Team India would host a three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka from 5^th to 10^th January 2020 and the three matches would be hosted at Guwahati, Indore, and Pune. Known as India vs Sri Lanka Paytm Series, it would mark the return of two Indian players Shikhar Dhawan and Jaspreet Bumrah.

This series is special because the Asian tigers would be coming here after a long time. India toured Sri Lanka for a tri-nation series for the Nidahas Trophy in 2018. This series also marked Dinesh Kartik’s return to the international arena as he won a near-impossible league match against Bangladesh to seal his team a place in the finals. India went on to win the series, beating Bangladesh by four wickets on 18 March 2018.

India vs Sri Lanka T20 Series

The upcoming series is sure to pack a lot of punch for two main reasons. The first is that the series shall be played for the shortest version of the game and the second is that few top Indian players would be making a comeback. Shikhar Dhawan and Jaspreet Bumrah both would be expected to make a strong case for themselves in India vs Sri Lanka T20 series. 

The touring Sri Lankan side is no easy money either. They haven’t released their names of the touring players so far, but you can expect them to field their best eleven for the series. The trio had featured in the recently contested West Indies series too, but Samson was never fielded in the final eleven. We hope the Indian selectors make the amends now.
